The University of Waterloo is proud to host the 2025 U SPORTS Women’s Hockey Championship, taking place March 20–23, 2025, at the Woolwich Memorial Centre in Elmira, Ontario. This prestigious event will bring together the nation’s top eight university teams, all competing for the national title.

UPSTART 25 Student Work Festival

The UpStart festival is a juried one-act play festival hosted by the University of Waterloo Theatre and Performance program. All these plays are written, directed, and performed by students. They will be presented March 19th-22nd from 7:00pm - 9:00pm EST in the Theatre of the Arts. Three shows make up the festival.

The Clockmaker's Daughter | Grebel Student Musical

Conrad Grebel University College Student Council is proud to present the first Canadian production of The Clockmaker's Daughter. Set in late 1800's Ireland, master clockmaker Abraham Reed, after the loss of his daughter, accidentally creates a mechanical girl that comes to life and names her Constance. Despite her life-like appearance, he tells her to remain hidden from the outside world, but her curiosity leads her to escape her confines. The tale follows her as she discovers what it means to be human.

Under the Pines, Over the Clouds is rooted in Xiaojing Yan’s Chinese heritage and her experience as an immigrant. Her explorations as an artist can be viewed through a similarly bifurcated lens: the forms and landscapes are equally as indebted to the artist’s cultural identity as they are to her empathy for the natural world.
