Cost information

Single Course Fee:

For professional development and to enhance your fire safety knowledge and career if you are NOT registered in a UW Graduate degree program 

Students who do not meet the admission requirements for, or are not formally enrolled in, a graduate program through the University of Waterloo may still take courses through the Fire Safety Graduate program. These students may either take individual fire safety courses, or may enrol in a four-course Department of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering Fire Safety Certificate.

Single course fee:

The fee is $ 2,500 + HST per student per course.
Included in the fee:

  • One (1) Fire Safety graduate level course
  • A letter indicating the course taken and mark obtained (if successfully completed)

Fire Safety Departmental Certificate fee:

The fee for the Fire Safety Departmental Certificate is $ 8,000 + HST per student.
Included in the fee:

  • Four (4)  Fire Safety graduate level courses
  • A certificate indicating the courses taken and marks obtained (if successfully completed)
  • First three courses are full fees, fourth course is discounted.

Students registered in a UW graduate program:

Full-time students

It is recommended that two (2) to three (3) courses are taken per term.
