AI and Biomanufacturing

Faculty of Engineering

Molecular Core Facility

Research project description

This project will use AI/machine learning for advanced modelling and optimization for the production of protein biologics. Protein biologics include vaccine products, virus-like particles, monoclonal antibodies, and other protein therapeutics. The project will encompass both modelling/simulation and wet-lab experimental work (cell culture, automated bioreactors, LC-MS/MS for fluxomics, and next generation sequencing/genomics) and will be co-supervised by Profs. Valerie Ward and Hector Budman.
