We are thrilled to congratulate Rodrigo on his successful workshop presentation at the inaugural Graduate/Post-doc Students Teaching in Higher Education (GPSTHE) Conference: Empowering the Next Generation of Educators. This unique virtual conference, attended by over 450 participants, brought together graduate students and postdoctoral scholars who are actively engaged in teaching roles across higher education, including sessionals, teaching assistants, and other instructional positions.

Rodrigo’s workshop focused on practicing critical allyship in the classroom, drawing inspiration from Stephanie Nixon’s coin model. The content was based on research he conducted during the Certificate in University Teaching program, highlighting his commitment to inclusive and innovative teaching practices. By sharing practical strategies, Rodrigo provided attendees with actionable tools to foster equitable learning environments and empower students in their academic journeys.

The conference offered participants a chance to explore a wide range of pedagogical topics, including innovative teaching methods, technology-enhanced strategies, assessment and evaluation, and diversity and inclusion in higher education. Rodrigo’s workshop stood out for its thoughtful approach to integrating research into teaching practice, demonstrating how early career educators can make a meaningful impact in the classroom.

As part of the conference recognition, attendees who participated in at least six sessions and submitted a reflective essay, received a certificate acknowledging their dedication to enhancing teaching practices. Rodrigo’s contribution reflects not only his professional growth but also his dedication to shaping a more inclusive, informed, and engaging learning environment for students.

We celebrate Rodrigo’s achievement and the inspiration his work provides to fellow graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, and the wider teaching community. His efforts exemplify the vital role that emerging educators play in advancing teaching excellence in higher education. Congratulations Rodrigo!
