The GoHelP lab contributes to raising awareness of the need for women’s empowerment on World Water Day through recognition of our work in the Lancet!

In recognition of World Water Day, which was held on March 22, 2019, The Lancet published a commentary entitled, "On World Water Day, gender equality and empowerment require attention". The underlying theme of leaving no one behind highlights gender equality within water resource management and climate change adaptation programmes. Noting the psychosocial impacts that the lack of access to water and sanitation has in low- and middle- income countries, the Lancet recognizes the PhD research of Dr. Elijah Bisung, now Assistant Professor in Global Health at Queen’s University, Kingston.
