GOHELP member and QES scholar Elizabeth Opiyo Onyango had the distinguished honor of being invited to attend The Canadian Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Scholarships Gala Dinner with his Excellency, Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, and Mrs. Sharon Johnston, hosted on Tuesday September 19, 2017, at Rideau Hall in Ottawa.  The dinner was an opportunity to recognize and celebrate key donors to the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Scholarships Program and extend gratitude to those who contributed time and resources to make the program a reality. Notable distinguished guests included former prime minister Jean Chretien, and Canadian High Commissioner to Kenya, David Angell. Elizabeth, pictured here with his Excellency, the Right Honorable David Johnston, was selected to speak on behalf of QES beneficiaries from the commonwealth countries (low-to-middle income countries).
