Patrycia Menko completed an MES in the School of Planning at the University of Waterloo, under the supervisor of Professor Leia Minaker. She completed a BES degree in Honours Geography and Environmental Management at the University of Waterloo in 2016. Patrycia’s thesis research focused on non-traditional retail food environments in Toronto, ON and the geographic and economic impacts of gentrification on healthy food access. Her additional research interests include public health policy, public transit systems, and climate change and sustainability. In 2020, Patrycia was awarded the Emily Ruston Mann Memorial Graduate Scholarship awarded to students demonstrating academic excellence and contributing to food security research.
