Nominations Open: April 8, 2020 to April 22, 2020.
We are looking for a new Speaker of Council to facilitate council meetings, be the voice of council at GSA board meetings, and serve on other committees as necessary. We are also looking for a Deputy Speaker to assist the Speaker and serve in the Speaker's place when they might be unavailable. All applications for Speaker of Council will also be considered for Deputy Speaker. These volunteer positions are open to all graduate students, and come with a small monthly stipend.
Candidates will be interviewed by the Council Executive Committee. Interviews will be conducted electronically between April 23 and May 1. Interview dates will be communicated to candidates directly.
Candidates should be available on May 6 from 4:00pm-7:00pm to attend a virtual meeting of GSA Council, and deliver a speech to GSA Council as to their suitability for the position, as well as answer questions posed by GSA Council.
