The Hopkins group welcomes Rebecca Harrop to the research team. Rebecca is a 4th year honours student who is currently undertaking a CHEM 494 research project. Rebecca’s thesis title is “Surface Sulphide Production on Rhodium Nanoclusters”.

During May 2012, Professor Hopkins will be giving two invited lectures on “The Structures and Reactivities of Transition Metal Nanoclusters”. These are scheduled for May 14th at the University of Guelph and May 30th at the annual Canadian Society for Chemistry meeting in Calgary, Alberta.

The Hopkins research group welcomes Mike Lecours and Theodore Chow, who are both currently undertaking co-op workterms. Mike is running ion trajectory simulations to aid in the design of a new research instrument, while Theodore is working on density functional theory calculations of small tranisition metal nanoclusters.
