Smudge Permit Guidelines for Large Events (75 + attendees)
- The Requestor is responsible to ensure confirmation of approval of smudge request permit.
- A Fire Extinguisher is required [as per UW Safety Office] for an event (10 + attendees). With each event permit, Plant Operations Maintenance will send a work order/request for a fire extinguisher to Tool Room.
- Fire extinguisher can be obtained from Tool Room - General Services Complex (GSC) 1st Floor
- Hours of Tool Room are:
Monday - Friday
6:00am-9:30am
9:45am-11:30am
12:00pm-2:00pm
2:15pm-4:00pm
- The requester may sign out fire extinguisher one business day in advance of event
- The requester may return fire extinguisher one business day after event.
- The Requestor or person organizing the Smudge is accountable for the following:
- Print “Notice of Smudging” signs from UW Indigenous Relations
- Please post in visible location at event
