We are happy to announce  that since the IPR Symposium originally scheduled on May 6^th had to be cancelled due to Covid-19, and since we do not foresee the possibility of having large gatherings on the UW campus in the Fall term, we have decided to organize a virtual IPR Symposium in the afternoon of Wednesday, September 2^nd, 2020.

It is with great sadness that we have learned of the passing of Prof. Kenneth O’Driscoll on August 4^th, 2020. Prof. O’Driscoll had a very successful career in Chemical Engineering, but he and Prof. Alfred Rudin (1924-2011) are remembered by the IPR community as the two founders of the IPR in 1978.

Due to the corona virus outbreak, the IPR Symposium has been postponed until further notice. Until then, stay safe and practice self-distancing! 

 IPR member Costas Tzoganakis and University of Waterloo startup Tyromer Inc. are poised to change the way the world handles its scrap tires.

The IPR is proud to announce that  Marzieh Riahinezhad, student member of the IPR, has received the prestigious Chemical Engineering Medal for proficiency in research. For the full story please follow link. 

Marzieh Riahinezhad (PhD, Chemical Engineering, September 2015) received the international and extremely prestigious “Best Dissertation of the Year ADIPEC Award” in excellence in energy (November 2015). Marzieh’s PhD thesis was selected by an international scientific panel of 26 judges in the oil and gas industry as one of the top three best dissertations of 2015 in energy, worldwide.

We are pleased to announce that Alison Scott, a member of the IPR, was recently award the 2015 J. Alan George Leadership Award.

Professor Alex Penlidis and Hadi Izadi's research on effective dry adhesive is featured in the latest edition of eWEAL. 

Kate Stewart is currently doing her PhD with Professor Penlidis.  She received two awards for her research work at two different conferences.  One was for the best poster (one of three out of over 65 posters) at the prestigious Polymer Reaction Engineering Conference IX in Cancun, Mexico (May 10-15, 2015).  The other was 2^nd place overall (out of 60+ posters) in the poster competition at the Annual AU
