Today, proficiency in navigating diverse cultural environments is essential for success in Sport Management. These skills include the ability to adapt to various sporting contexts, communicate fluently across cultural divides and manage different team dynamics, organizational structures, and approaches to athletic development. That's why this program, offered through collaboration between the Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies, Waterloo International, and Renison University College, is a game-changer as it will allow you to build upon all of these and more.

What will you do?

You will have the opportunity to attend a Toronto Blue Jays baseball game and tour the Scotiabank Arena, explore the on-campus Esports lab, visit the Granite Curling Club, and participate in a tour of the Kitchener Auditorium followed by a lively discussion with the manager of the Kitchener Rangers hockey team. You will also have the opportunity to skate around at the Columbia Ice Fields, watch the Waterloo Warriors hockey team practice, discover the rapidly growing sport of pickleball with the Cambridge Forefathers, and take part in a game of soccer or ultimate frisbee at the UW Field House. On weekends, you will have the chance to explore Toronto, Canada's vibrant urban hub, and visit Niagara Falls, one of Canada's breathtaking natural wonders.*

Where will you stay?

To help you immerse yourself in the diversity of the Canadian lifestyle, you will be housed in accommodations off-campus. Chaperones and adult guides employed by Waterloo International will accompany you, ensuring both safe and enriching experiences throughout the program.

About the Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies

The Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies at the University of Waterloo, located in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, offers a dynamic, interdisciplinary environment where theory meets practice.
