We asked our groups to pick the top three ideas from last term that they were really interested in. Here's what they came up with (in no particular order):
- Outdoor Wi-Fi
- Student IST Site (and Knowledge Base)
- More comprehensive list of student software and pricing
- Portal App Improvements
- Cybersecurity awareness
- Brochures for first-years
- Learn Document Viewer (Word Compatibility)
We asked our group to let us know what three things IST is already doing a good job of:
- Student Portal
- improvements are heading in the right direction
- We like that so many things are available in one place
- Wi-Fi has good overall speed
- Service Desks
- Free
- Friendly
- Can help with lots of problems
We asked our group to tell us three things IST can improve on:
- More access to cheaper / free software
- Better availability for software which is required but not available on campus
- Student Portal
- Should be advertised more for first years
- Wi-Fi
- We should continue to improve Wi-Fi where signal is poor, in areas like bathrooms, stairwells, etc.
- Densely populated areas, like DC Library, or busy lecture halls, have slow Wi-Fi
