Talk for current MPS students - As part of the Open Government Initiative, the City of Kitchener aims to increase public participation and accountability in municipal politics and activities. Dan Chapman, Deputy Chief Administrative Officer of Financial and Corporate Services, will give a 30-45 minute presentation on the initiative followed by a Q&A session about city politics, working in government and career options.

A MPS Multi-Year Celebration Event -We invite all MPS alumni, students and faculty to mix and mingle with some old friends and meet some new ones. All while enjoying some hors d'oeuvres, drinks, and some pleasant conversations in a beautiful setting. Please R.S.V.P. to Sheila by Friday, October 11th. 

Election for new MPS students - Facilitated by Jeff Bunn, outgoing President of the Master of Public Service Association, this election will feature a lively competition for our 2013-2014 association executives. 

Discussion Panel for new MPS students - Meet three MPSers who are working in municipal government. You'll hear from Tracy Suerich, the Program Coordinator for City of Waterloo's Waterloo Public Square; Jeff Bunn, the Committee Coordinator for the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury's Legislative Services; and Rajbir Sian, Economic Development Coordinator for the City of Waterloo. All three are looking forward to telling you what it's like, what they do, and how to be competitive for municipal positions.

Organized by Lee Chandler, MPSA Director of Social Affairs, the MPS Welcome Social is a great opportunity to mingle with your colleagues, meet fellow MPSers, and enjoy some casual food and drinks before the semester gets underway. We hope to see you there! Senior students and alumni are very welcome too. 

Workshop for new MPS students - Facilitated by OnTheThreshold Consulting's Leadership Executive Team Coach, John Doan, this workshop focuses on emotional intelligent communication for teaming with others. 

Workshop for new MPS students - Facilitated by Jen Woodside, Career Advisor in Waterloo's Centre for Career Action, this workshop teaches you how to successfully prepare yourself for your upcoming co-op interviews. This workshop will be followed by a complimentary lunch in the Project Room.
