Voting together in the 2015 Federal Election

A lecture for the MPS Class of 2017 - Organized by the Political Science department, this talk involves representatives of the Vote Together campaign, a major pan-Canadian grassroots mobilization to encourage citizens to vote strategically to unseat Conservative MPs in swing ridings. The talk conveys many of the themes explored in Prof. Carter's course and it provides lots of evidence on the types of resources and strategies used by civil society organizations that are discussed in "Government, Business, and Civil Society".

2014 Hagey Lecture - Fair Society, Healthy Lives

The 2014 Hagey Lecture presented by Professor Sir Michael Marmot - Indicators of overall population health and the distribution of health tell us much about how well a society is doing. The WHO Commission on Social Determinants of Health advocated for action on the wider social, economic, political, and cultural determinants of health in order to improve population health and reduce health inequalities.
