The President’s Advisory Committee on Student Mental Health (PAC-SMH) hosted a supporting panel launch day Thursday, July 27 2017. It was the first time the supporting panels were able to meet with each other and brought together perspectives from students, faculty, staff, community partners, alumni, and parents.

The members of the President’s Advisory Committee on Student Mental Health (PAC-SMH) have reviewed the many applications and selected supporting panel members for the five topic panels: Student Experience, Student Services, Community Partners, Academic, Mental Health Experts. The large number of applicants from across our University of Waterloo community affirms the passion and awareness for developing and enhancing mental health and wellness services and systems on campus. Thank you!

The President’s Advisory Committee on Student Mental Health (PAC-SMH) has been meeting since May and we are pleased to announce we are ready to start recruiting for representatives on our five supporting panels. The panels include: Student Experience, Student Services, Community Partners, Academic, and Mental Health Experts. Each panel will help to gather information in their topic area to help the PAC-SMH deliver their final report.
 

The members of the President’s Advisory Committee on Student Mental Health (PAC-SMH) have been appointed by University of Waterloo President, Feridun Hamdullahpur. The Committee includes representation from multiple faculties, disciplines, and roles, in addition to both graduate and undergraduate student representation.

Terms of Reference Approved

President Feridun Hamdullahpur has approved the Terms of Reference for the President’s Advisory Committee on Student Mental Health (PAC-SMH). The Terms of Reference sets out a mandate, membership and timeline for this committee. Since the announcement of the PAC-SMH there has been a strong wave of interest expressed by students, staff, alumni, parents, and faculty in discussing the state of mental health among students and awareness of mental health resources available.
