Soroosh Hassanpour
I am a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Toronto Institute for Aerospace Studies. My research interests include modeling and simulation of distributed-parameter dynamic systems.
I received my BASc (in 2005) and MASc (in 2008) in Mechanical Engineering respectively from the Isfahan University of Technology and the Sharif University of Technology, both in Iran. I received my PhD (in 2014) in Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering from the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.

Research interests

  • Physics-based mathematical modeling of distributed-parameter dynamic systems
  • Dynamic modeling and analysis of gyroelastic systems and continua
  • Dynamics, stability, and vibrations of flexible active structures
  • Experimental and analytical investigation of micropolar (Cosserat) elasticity theory
