The event is part of the 17th annual Fantastic Alumni, Faculty, Staff and Retiree Day. It takes place at the Physical Activities Complex (PAC) on campus on Saturday, January 16. This year's event features the Warriors men's and women's basketball teams playing Brock University.
The airplane toss will happen during halftime of the men's game. One free airplane will be given to each registered guest and additional airplanes will be available for purchase, with all proceeds going to KidsAbility. Participants launch their planes at prizes on and around the court. The plane that lands closest to a prize wins it. Prizes include a wireless speaker system, flight package a family getaway, and more.
The women’s game begins at 1:00 p.m., followed by the men's game at 3:00 p.m., with halftime expected at approximately 3:40 p.m.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg, and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is co-ordinated within the Office of Indigenous Relations.
