Media are invited to attend a photoshoot for the launch of the University of Waterloo’s involment in the UN Women’s HeForShe Campaign.

Around 150 students, faculty and staff from Waterloo will assemble on Tuesday, May 5, to form the HeForShe logo. Overhead shots will be possible from the Math 3 roof garden.

Location: BMH Green, University of Waterloo (in the case of inclement weather, the shoot will take place in the Math 3 building atrium)

HeForShe is a global effort to engage men and boys in removing the social and cultural barriers that prevent women and girls from achieving their potential, and together positively reshaping society. UN Women, the United Nations entity for gender equality and the empowerment of women, created the initiative that was launched by UN Women Global Goodwill Ambassador Emma Watson and UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in September 2014.

Feridun Hamdullahpur, President and Vice-Chancellor, will announce Waterloo’s plans as part of a new UN HeForShe initiative at the event.
