The Waterloo Aboriginal Education Centre at St. Paul's University College at the University of Waterloo is hosting its Aboriginal Entrepreneurship workshop Saturday and media are invited to attend.  Students will work in teams and receive guidance from university and business instructors.

“We have put together a team of amazing speakers, educators, student leaders and elders to draw from traditional knowledge, create collaborative relationships, and build confidence to succeed in higher education, entrepreneurship and beyond,” said Jeff Muzzerall, director of Indigenous, government and community relations at St. Paul’s.

“Since early contact in the late 1600s, aboriginal entrepreneurs have engaged each other and the newcomers in business trade, skill and knowledge sharing,” said Graham Brown, principal of St. Paul’s. “We have much to share and much to learn.”

Other speakers in attendance include Jarret Leaman from the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business, and the University of Waterloo’s Paul McKone, Martin Scherer, and Joel Mieske. Ryan McMahon, comedian, will act as host.
