Hundreds of students, faculty and staff volunteers from the University of Waterloo will pay it forward to communities in Waterloo, Stratford and Cambridge this Friday with a range of events for Random Act of Kindness Day®.

The University is again partnering with The Kitchener and Waterloo Community Foundation and the Stratford Perth Community Foundation to engage citizens in small acts of kindness and generosity to build a stronger community.

“Our University and the communities in which it operates are inextricably linked and we know that we are stronger and more successful together,” said Sandra Banks, vice-president, university relations at the University of Waterloo. “In celebrating Random Act of Kindness Day® we will promote the values of inclusiveness, equity, and wellness that will help to deepen the strong bond with our neighbours.”

The University of Waterloo is involved in 17 planned activities to celebrate the day, known for it’s “pay it forward” motto. In last year’s RAK day, Waterloo performed more than 7,000 acts of kindness.
