Have a student coming to Waterloo?

Mother and daughter at UWaterloo.

Throughout the summer and fall months, the Student Success Office hosts events to help you and your student with their transition to university life.

Faculty 101 Days

Faculty 101 days are free, one-day programs held throughout July to provide students and their families with the information they need to have a successful first year at Waterloo. Learn more on the 101 Days website.

Parent and Family Orientation

Orientation programming for parents and families is offered annually in September on fall first-year move-in days.

If you’re looking for useful tips and strategies for supporting your student’s transition into university life, join one of our Parent Orientation sessions. No registration is required.

If you're unable to attend one of our sessions, visit our family resources page.

Family send-off

Celebrate the beginning of your student’s university career! During this event, you'll:

  • Receive an official welcome from the administration.
  • Meet University of Waterloo faculty and staff.

No registration is required.
