The 2016 Livable Cities Forum: Changing Climate, Changing Communities is being hosted by Halifax Regional Municipality in partnership with the Partners for Action (P4A) Network and ICLEI Canada.

Be part of the conversation on building resilience to extreme weather and climate change. Highlights of the Forum will include:

  • understanding and preparing for extreme events in a coastal setting,
  • building partnerships to address risk, and
  • building livable communities that are prepared for increasingly severe and more extreme weather events.

The Forum will be the ideal place for municipal representatives, planners, elected officials, emergency management and public safety professionals, and other stakeholders to:

  • Learn from Canadian and international speakers about ways to better understand, plan for, mainstream, and advance resiliency to extreme weather events during two days of workshops, plenaries, and interactive sessions.
  • Explore Halifax and surrounding area through study tours and see how it has recovered from some of Canada’s most extreme weather and catastrophic events.
  • Network with leaders and innovators who will share strategies, solutions, best practices, and lessons learned in local-level extreme weather resiliency.

We hope you will join us at what is sure to be an exciting and innovative event. See you in Halifax!
