Program features (15-week GOALS)

GOALS is delivered through an integrated approach to teaching and learning that ensures you are building important language and intercultural skills while developing the 4C’s of Education for Sustainable Development: 

  • Critical thinking 
  • Communication 
  • Collaboration 
  • Creativity 

In 15-week GOALS, you will benefit from: 

  • 20 hours (approximately) of programming a week 
  • an orientation session and campus tour on the first day of the program 
  • opportunities to meet with instructors during office hours 
  • individual feedback sessions with instructors during regularly scheduled sessions 
  • course assessments designed to measure language and overall learning progress  
  • final achievement report (transcript) 
  • a certificate of participation from Renison University College at the University of Waterloo 
  • individualized support from our student advisor to help facilitate your learning success 
  • the option to take advantage of various leadership and volunteer opportunities 
  • opportunities to learn beyond the classroom through engaging workshops, social events, and optional excursions 
  • an active texting community which uses WeChat, Kakao Talk, Line and WhatsApp to connect with peers and staff 

The 15-week GOALS program is suitable for students with a B1 CEFR level of English (intermediate) and above. Students who successfully complete the 15-week program may pathway into the academic English program, EFAS.
