Learn to Chill: Student Mindfulness Group

University can be stressful, and it can be easy to lose sight of your goals or forget to find time for relaxation and self-care. Join Peer Leader Rubee and Chaplain Scott for an interactive workshop series to help you feel grounded each week. With a focus on gratitude, you will complete a series of workshops that introduce mindfulness practices and techniques.

October workshops include:

  • Writing gratitude notes
  • Giving and receiving words of affirmation
  • EFT Tapping Therapy
  • Mindful Painting

What can you expect?

  • Mini-lecture on each week's mindfulness practice content
  • Interactive activities that allow you to practice gratitude and mindfulness in a comfortable and guided space
  • A sense of community and gratitude at the end of each session

Krispy Kreme Donut Fundraiser

RASC is raising money for the Student Urgent Needs (SUN) Bursary and our Community Fridge/Cupboard! The SUN Bursary helps ease the financial constraints for Renison students who are experiencing financial hardship. The Community Fridge/Cupboard is an anonymous food supply resource for students and members of the Renison community experiencing food insecurity. You can support RASC and the SUN Bursary and Community Fridge/Cupboard by purchasing a tasty donut treat!

What can you expect?

  • Krispy Kreme donuts for sale individually or by the box
  • Cash or card accepted
  • 50% of sales go directly to the Student Urgent Needs Bursary
  • 50% of sales go directly to the Community Fridge/Cupboard

Coming Out Day Outreach Booth

National Coming Out Day is a day that supports all 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals sharing their identities with the world. Coming out on this day is not a requirement, and whether you are ready or not (or a supportive ally), Renison will be hosting a booth to share resources and support for all community members.

What can you expect?

  • Handouts, flyers, and knowledgeable staff who are happy to answer questions
  • A chance to learn about 2SLGBTQIA+ initiatives, support, and advocacy in Renison and the Waterloo Region
  • A space to chat with trusted members of the Renison community about sexuality, gender, and personal identity
