Andrea TeachingDr. Andrea M. Collins is Associate Professor in the School of Environment, Resources and Sustainability (SERS) at the University of Waterloo. Prior to joining SERS, Dr. Collins obtained her Ph.D. in Political Studies from Queen's University, Canada and was a SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute of Political Economy at Carleton University.

Dr. Collins' research examines the role of gender in the governance of food, land, and agriculture in both local and global contexts. She is presently studying the discourses used by global governance actors to describe the roles of women and gender relations in agricultural investment and public-private partnerships. Her research has been published in Journal of Peasant Studies, International Feminist Journal of Politics, Land Use Policy, Journal of Agrarian Change, and Globalizations.

Dr. Collins is also a faculty member at the Balsillie School of International Affairs, and a member of the Global Food Politics Group.
