Interested in the performance of timber and timber-hybrid structures subjected to extreme loading?

I am looking for highly qualified students with interests in the performance of timber and timber-hybrid structures subjected to extreme loading (i.e. blast, impact, earthquake), as well as developing accurate evaluation strategies, and economically viable and structurally sound retrofit techniques. Almost all of the research projects involve a combination of laboratory experiments and numerical models to validate the research objectives.

In terms of research areas, I am always interested in extending the scope of my research into new or different directions. Therefore, if you have your own research ideas and would like to work with me and my research group, please contact me via email and we can explore these ideas further.

The most up to date Graduate Student Research Scholarships (GRS) can be found here. The GRS can be complemented by other sources of funds (e.g. merit scholarships, teaching assistantships).

If you are interested, please contact me via email with a description of your previous experience, the research area of interest, and CV.
