​​​​​​Daniel Lacroix is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Waterloo. Dr. Lacroix's expertise is in the behaviour of wood structures under extreme loading, the strengthening and retrofiting of wood structures, and resilient building design. Most recently, Dr. Lacroix has taught Mechanics 2 for Architectural Engineering, Advanced Structural Design in Timber, and he is looking forward to teaching the Timber: Design, Structure, and Construction for Engineers next term. His research currently investigates various wood elements reinforced by fiber reinforced polymers (FRP) that are subject to various types of loading.
