Tyler Hull
Tyler was born and raised in the small town of Dutton in southwestern Ontario. He completed his B.A.Sc. in Civil Engineering with a Structural Certificate from the University of Waterloo in 2018. During his undergrad, he completed internships with various employers including Blackwell Structural Engineers, Milman and Associates, and MMM Group Limited. He is pursuing his M.A.Sc. in Civil Engineering under the supervision of Dr. Daniel Lacroix, where he is researching the performance of a CLT-glulam composite floor system for long span timber floors. The research will primarily focus on assessing the performance of the floor system in terms of strength and vibration, as well as the shear connection stiffness at the material interface, using laboratory testing and finite element analysis. Tyler has a keen interest in the area of tall wood structures, and mass timber construction. He is continually looking for ways to learn and contribute to the growing field of mass-timber and hybrid wood construction across Canada. Along with research, Tyler enjoys volleyball, hockey, skiing and golfing, as well as spending time with friends and family.
