Conference & workshop organization

For the following conferences and workshops I have acted as a main organizer:

  • QIP 2019, January 14-18, 2019.
Hosted at University of Colorado Boulder, organized together with Graeme Smith.
  • Rocky Mountain Summit on Quantum Information, June 25-29, 2018.
Hosted at JILA, University of Colorado Boulder, organized together with Mark M. Wilde and Graeme Smith.

Research & Publications

I'm a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute for Quantum Computing at the University of Waterloo and Perimeter Institute. My advisors are Debbie Leung and Beni Yoshida. My main research interests lie in quantum information theory and quantum Shannon theory. In particular, I am interested in the mathematical properties of entropic quantities and quantum channels, with the goal of using these properties to gain a better understanding of information-theoretic tasks such as quantum channel coding, entanglement distillation, source coding, and state redistribution. An example of this is my PhD thesis, in which I studied relative entropies in order to refine optimal rates of information-processing tasks through analyzing their second order asymptotics and deriving strong converse theorems for them.
