IISE is the world's largest professional society dedicated to the support of the industrial & systems engineering profession and individuals involved with improving quality and productivity. Founded in 1948, IISE is an international, nonprofit association that provides leadership for the application, education, training, research, and development of industrial and systems engineering.

The UWaterloo IISE Chapter was formed in 2012 and has since gone on to provide countless opportunities and services for students to reach their full potential. The UWaterloo IISE Chapter is a way for students to come together in the pursuit of gaining a deeper understanding of the discipline. Further, the chapter seeks to educate others about Management and Industrial Engineering, to network with professional engineers, and to learn from other IE organizations. UWaterloo IISE annually sends delegates to attend and compete against other IISE Chapters across Canada in the IISE Annual Student Conference.
