The Canadian Water Network (CWN), Student and Young Professional (SYP) Committee, representing Kitchener and Waterloo, and SWIGS from University of Waterloo are excited to announce our end of year Blue Drinks event! This will be hosted in Kitchener at McCabe's Bar and Grill on King Street.

Join us for a panel discussion aimed at exploring Indigenous perspectives on water issues. The panelists are Terrylynn Brant, Vanessa Gray, and Rachel Thevenard. Amy Smoke will be moderating the discussion and there will be an opportunity to ask questions.

The panel is a collaborative initiative between the Aboriginal Education Centre and SWIGS. The Aboriginal Education Centre is located at St. Paul's University College, Room 232.

There will be coffee, tea and treats. We hope to see you there!

Come join us at the Grad House for free food and great company! Word on the street is that there will be ice cream sundaes as well. Who doesn't want a cool treat on a hot summers day?

As part of the Water Institute's WaterTalks lecture series, Curtis Richardson, professor of Resource Ecology and Director of the Duke University Wetland Center, presents, "Decoding the Secrets of Carbon Preservation in Peatlands along a Boreal to Tropical Gradient from Minnesota to Peru."

As part of the Water Institute's WaterTalks lecture series, Lovell Endowed Professor Ximing Cai from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign's Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, will be presenting, "Modelling River Basins as Coupled Human and Natural Systems."

Our annual World Wetlands Day event will be held on Monday, February 3, 2020 in Federation Hall at the University of Waterloo. This year's event will feature an afternoon research symposium including research seminars, lightning talks, poster presentations (including prizes!), and exhibitor booths.
