Peer Academic Leaders

Peer Academic Leaders are upper-year students from various programs and faculties that can act as a mentor and coach and can support you with:

  • Academic wellness
  • Transition into university
  • Connecting to campus resources
  • Goal setting
  • Time management and balance
  • Exam preparation and effective study habits
  • ...and much more!

You can chat with any Peer Academic Leader, but there are also PALs for specific faculties if you have more specific questions.

Keep in mind — PALs are not tutors, but are peer academic coaches who can help you find the right academic habits and resources that work for you.

From campus events to study sessions and workshops, our Peer Academic Leaders provide mentorship to all incoming co-registered first-year students, our off-campus community (OCC), and students living in the St. Jerome's residences.

Contact our Peer Academic Leaders by email at sjupals@uwaterloo.ca or by clicking the booking link below!
