Accurate data informs decision-making at Waterloo. The Equity Survey Advisory Group developed and implemented an equity demographics survey in 2021. The survey gathered information on important equity dimensions for students and employees: Indigenous identity, racialized identity, sex, gender identity, disability, religion, and citizenship. This data will help the university better identify equity gaps in programs, services, and policies, and to better meet the needs of underrepresented and equity-deserving students and employees. The Waterloo Equity 2021 survey collected self-reported demographic data to help us better understand the diversity of our community. Results of the 2022 student equity survey are available to view.
