Award description: 

A scholarship, valued at up to $3,000, is awarded annually to a full-time undergraduate student enrolled in Year Two or Three of the Optometry program in the School of Optometry & Vision Science. The recipient will have achieved academic excellence (cumulative average of 80% or greater) and will be from New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador or Prince Edward Island, with a preference going to students from Newfoundland and Labrador. This fund is made possible through a bequest from Ronald and Effie Jenkins to honour the memory of their son, Dr. Douglas Jenkins, a Waterloo School of Optometry & Vision Science graduate from 1982 who passed away suddenly in 2007.
