An award, valued at $2,500, will be provided annually to a full-time student enrolled in Year Two, Three, or Four of the Science & Business program in the Faculty of Science. Selection will be based on a combination of academic achievement (minimum cumulative average of 75%), demonstrated entrepreneurial abilities (e.g. have experience with creative design and artistic expression, hope to access the Velocity Program, have participated in programs like hackathons, makerspaces, and/or creative design lab), and demonstrated leadership. Preference will be given to students that can best describe the impact this award will have on their ability to pursue their educational and/or entrepreneurial goals. This award was created to commemorate Farhan Jiwani (BSc ’12) and was established through the generosity of Farhan's family and friends, including UW alumni and ACTO founders Parth Khanna (BSc ’12, BA ’12), Kapil Kalra (BASc ’13, BA ’13) and Kumar Erramilli.
