Jack And Annie Scott Award for Excellence in Biological Research

Award description: 

An award, valued at up to $3,000, will be presented annually to a full-time undergraduate student majoring in a Biology program and accepted into BIOL 499 (Senior Honours Project). Selection will be based on academic achievement (minimum 80% cumulative average) combined with a research proposal that is deemed to be novel and innovative, feasible, and effectively communicated. An application is required and must be submitted to the BIOL 499 (or equivalent) Course Coordinator by October 15. This fund is made possible by a donation from the Estate of Eileen Wiegand in honour of her parents, Jack (a member of the founding University of Waterloo Board of Governors) and Annie Scott, who, by their example, instilled in Eileen and her family, a strong commitment to community and an understanding of the importance of education.
