This $1,000 scholarship was established in 1989 by family and friends in memory of the late Karen Mark, a third-year Chemical Engineering student. The scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time undergraduate student who identifies as a woman enrolled in Year Three of a program in which women are underrepresented in the Faculty of Engineering. Selection is based on excellent academic achievement and demonstrated involvement and contributions to student life at Waterloo.
