Award description: 

An award, valued at up to $1,500, will be provided annually to a full-time undergraduate student entering Year One of the Doctor of Optometry program in the School of Optometry and Vision Science. Selection will be based on academic achievement (minimum 75% admission average). Candidates must be residents of Western Canada (defined as all provinces/territories west of Ontario). Preference will be given to residents of Saskatchewan. This award is made possible by donations from friends and family of Dr. Kevin Hesterman, a School of Optometry graduate (BSc, OD ’00), to honour his dedication to and compassion for the profession. Kevin was born and raised in Saskatchewan, and following his graduation, began practicing in Alberta.
