Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) rewards excellence and nurtures Canada's brightest young minds by funding top science and engineering students in Canada's post-secondary institutions. NSERC Undergraduate Research Awards enable the recipient to gain research experience by working full time with an NSERC grant holder on a research project in a university laboratory. These awards have a value of $6,000 (plus a required USRA top-up) and students are normally expected to work 35 hours per week for 16 consecutive weeks.
