Award description: 

The Sandford Fleming Foundation (SFF) has established these awards to support two teams of upper-year engineering students participating in the Innovation Design Competition at the annual Ontario Engineering Competition.  The award recognizes the effort required to be selected to represent the University of Waterloo at the Ontario Engineering Competition.

Two team awards valued at $800 ($200 per student assuming a team of 4)

Eligibility & selection criteria: 

Teams are invited to apply for the competition every December by a representative of the Faculty in consultation with the Sandford Fleming Foundation.  The application process involves preparing a short presentation on the innovative design project to be presented at the competition.  Teams are selected based on innovation, practicality, relevance, and presentation quality.  The two winning teams are selected and notified in late December or early January.
