Award description: 

Up to four scholarships, valued at $1,000 each, will be awarded to students from Waterloo Region, enrolled in Year One of any undergraduate program at the University of Waterloo who are recipients of a Waterloo County Entrance Scholarship or the Joseph H. Lang Scholarship. Selection is based on academic achievement combined with leadership and good citizenship through extensive involvement in extracurricular and/or volunteer activities within high school or the community. This scholarship honours the late Walter A. Bean, LLD., a distinguished friend of the University and business community leader in Kitchener-Waterloo for several decades. It is funded by an endowment with Waterloo Region Community Foundation.
