Women of Waterloo County Scholarship

Award description: 

Two scholarships, valued at $2,000 each, will be awarded to outstanding full-time undergraduate students from the Region of Waterloo who are enrolled in Year One of any program at the University of Waterloo, Renison University College, or St. Jerome’s University. Selection will be based on academic achievement (minimum 85% admission average) combined with demonstrated leadership abilities, as evidenced through involvement in extracurricular and/or volunteer activities. Preference will be given to students who embody the characteristics of the pioneering women of Waterloo County, for which this award honours, e.g., pursuing non-traditional studies, demonstrated leadership through extracurricular or volunteer activities in high school or the community, entrepreneurial endeavours, etc. Recipients of other entrance awards (totaling $2,500 or more, but excluding the automatic President's and Merit Scholarships) are not eligible. Interested students are to apply by November 1.

  • full-time undergraduate student enrolled in 1A
  • must have attended high school in the Region of Waterloo for a minimum of three years
  • minimum 85% admission average
  • demonstrated leadership abilities, as evidenced through involvement in extracurricular and/or volunteer activities
  • preference to students who embody the characteristics of the pioneering women of Waterloo County, for which this award honours, e.g., pursuing non-traditional studies, demonstrated leadership through extracurricular or volunteer activities in high school or the community, entrepreneurial endeavours, etc.
  • Recipients of other entrance awards (totaling $2,500 or more, but excluding the automatic President's and Merit Scholarships) are not eligible.
