Scholarships/awards
Award description:

An award, valued at up to $3,000, will be presented annually to a full-time undergraduate student majoring in a Biology program and accepted into BIOL 499 (Senior Honours Project). Selection will be based on academic excellence (minimum 75% cumulative average) and the intent to pursue research in aquatic sciences (e.g., physiology, behaviour, ecology, etc.). Preference will be given to students intending to work with one of the research groups affiliated with a Biology water facility. An application is required and is to be submitted to the BIOL 499 (or equivalent) course coordinator by October 15. This fund is made possible by a donation from the Estate of Eileen Wiegand in honour of her parents, Jack (a member of the founding University of Waterloo Board of Governors) and Annie Scott, who, by their example, instilled in Eileen and her family, a strong commitment to community and an understanding of the importance of education.
