An award, valued at $4,000, is granted annually to an undergraduate student who identifies as a woman enrolled in Year Two of Electrical, Computer or Nanotechnology Engineering. Students will have demonstrated strong communication skills, leadership skills, involvement in extracurricular activities, and will have maintained a minimum B average (75%) in 1A and 1B. The successful candidate must be legally eligible to work in Canada upon graduation. IESO may also offer the award recipient consideration for a work-term position at their offices upon completion of Year Two and if accepted she will have to be eligible to work in Canada.
The IESO (Independent Electricity System Operator) is responsible for managing Ontario's bulk electricity system and operating the wholesale electricity market. It is committed to creating a challenging and fulfilling work environment in which its staff is dedicated to serving market participants, stakeholders and all electricity consumers in Ontario.
