Dr. Jian Zhao is an Assistant Professor in the Cheriton School of Computer Science, University of Waterloo, where he directs the WatVis (Waterloo Visualization) research group. His research lies in the intersection of information visualization, human-computer interaction, and data science. He is dedicated to developing interactive visualizations that optimize the analytical workflow of solving complex real-world data problems.
Dr. Zhao received his Ph.D. from the Department of Computer Science, University of Toronto. He is the recipient of many best paper or honorable mention paper awards at top-tier venues (e.g., IEEE VIS, ACM CHI, and MobileHCI). More information can be found on his website: www.jeffjianzhao.com.
