One scholarship, valued at $1,000, is awarded annually to a full-time undergraduate student entering Year One in the Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies on the basis of academic achievement combined with recreation-based community involvement and leadership. This fund was established to honour the founders of the Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies: Jack Pearse, Chuck Griffith, and David Ng.
