Award description: 

A bursary, valued at $2,000, will be awarded annually to an undergraduate student entering Year One of the Mechanical Engineering program who has demonstrated financial need as determined by the University of Waterloo. To be considered, students must complete the University of Waterloo Entrance Bursary application. This fund is made possible by a donation from Tom McColeman (BASc ’04, Mechanical Engineering).

  • Complete the Entrance Bursary application.
    • You can find the application on the Awards and financial aid tab in the Waterloo application portal.
    • Access to the form is limited to Ontario students who will be studying on a full-time basis and who are applying to post-secondary studies for the first time.
    • Additional eligibility criteria can be found on the application form.
    • The Entrance Bursary application is open from February 1 to April 15.
