Once you've applied, logging in to your personalized Waterloo applicant portal is an important next step.
The portal includes checklists of actions you need to take. You'll also be able to submit documents, check your application status, and view updates from the admissions office.
Log in to the applicant portal
- Once we receive your application from the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC), we'll email you (the subject will be "We’ve received your application") with the next steps in the application process.
- You should receive this email within five business days of us receiving your application from the OUAC.
- That email will include the one-time-use PIN you need to create a password for the applicant portal.
- Once you log in, you'll see your Waterloo applicant number. It's helpful to include this when communicating with us.
What to do once you've logged in
Complete your Declaration of Academic Experience (DAE)
- The DAE is required for admission.
- It will be one of your checklist items in the applicant portal. It takes less than five minutes to complete and determines which documents you'll need to provide (if any).
- We strongly recommend that you complete the DAE within two weeks of receiving your portal login instructions.
- Within an hour, you'll see an updated checklist of any actions you'll need to take. We'll also email you about any next steps.
- You can also refer to our common questions about the DAE.
For many students, completing the declaration means we'll be able to review your application sooner because there won't be a delay in determining which documents you'll need to submit.
What else can you do in the applicant portal?
- Your personalized checklist will list any actions you need to take.
- Some students will need to complete supplemental information forms, provide transcripts, and/or submit English language test scores.
- Learn about the required documents you may need to provide.
- Check your application status.
- Click on the "Decision information" tab in the portal.
- View an offer of admission as well as any scholarship and bursary information.
