Deadlines

There are two key deadlines for most programs: an application deadline and one to submit documents such as transcripts.

  • We admit first-year students for the term starting in September only.
  • A deadline may be extended if a program is not yet full. Applications received after the deadline will be reviewed only if spaces are available.

What is due by the document deadline?

Admission Information Form (AIF)

The AIF is required for admission to the faculties of Engineering (excluding Architecture) and Mathematics.

English language test results

If your first language is not English or if requested by the admissions office, you may need to submit English language scores.

Transcripts

If you're not currently registered in an Ontario high school or if requested by the admissions office, you'll need to submit transcripts.

Requests for special consideration

If you had significant circumstances that affected your grades and you did not receive an accommodation, you can request special consideration in the application process.

Entrance bursaries for Ontario students

Approximately 1,000 first-year Waterloo students who are Ontario residents with financial need and who are starting university or college for the first time may receive a Waterloo entrance bursary.

The application deadline is April 15 each year.

We encourage you to apply since many factors are taken into consideration. It could be free money!
